Job Summary

A post-doctoral researcher is sought to work on the model denitrifying bacterium Paracoccus denitrificans. The main goal is to further characterize biofilm formation by this organism (see PMID: 28904996) using genetic, biochemical, physical and molecular approaches. There will also be opportunities to get involved in other projects according to the specific interests of the successful applicant. A willingness to mentor and assist students in the lab will be important.

Minimum Education and Experience

- Master’s degree in field directly related to research- Two (2) years of experience/expertise performing research relating to a specified field of study- Or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience totaling at least eight years.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelors and PhD degrees in microbiology or a related discipline. Experience working with bacterial biofilms would be highly advantageous.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will include (but not necessarily be limited to) laboratory research, and providing some assistance to graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
