Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science invites applications from outstanding applicants for multiple tenure-track positions in Computer Science. Candidates in all areas of Computer Science will be considered, though the department is particularly interested in areas of natural language processing, machine learning, data science, software engineering, cyber security, and IoT. The positions are open for applicants at all ranks. An endowed chair may be available for highly qualified senior candidates. Junior candidates must show outstanding promise.

Minimum Education and Experience

An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and Experience

Earned doctoral degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. 8-10 years’ experience is preferred for senior ranks, but less experience will be considered for junior ranks.

Candidates for senior positions must have a distinguished record of research, publication, teaching and service, and demonstrated leadership ability in developing and expanding (funded) research programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct research, supervise PhD and MS thesis students, and write grant proposals for funding.

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise independent studies, and mentor students.

Serve on various committees of the CS Department, Jonsson School, and the University.
